— introduction —
For those who don’t have the time to play RPGs anymore,
this is a new type of game—an Alarm Playing Game!
To play dreeps, just set the alarm. That’s all. Easy, right?
When you head to bed, the robot boy will sleep just like you, regaining HP and recharging for his next day of adventure!
When the alarm rings in the morning, both of you will wake up and start your day. When you go to work or school, the robot boy will head out on an adventure through fields, valleys, and peninsulas where monsters roam. Or, he might discover dungeons where strange bosses lurk...
Either way, every day is a new day for you and the robot boy!
But how does adventuring work? Thats real easy!
After the alarm sounds, the robot boys adventure will automatically continue as long as he has enough HP, even while the app is closed. You might miss some events, but don’t worry about it.
There’s almost no text in this game.
So whenever you feel like it, load dreeps up and check on the robot boys adventure. Or, leave it running on your desk while you work, study, or snack. Play however you want, and take it at your own pace.
Visuals and sound can give you hints to what sort of story is unfolding in this little world. But use your imagination! Take those hints and try to guess just whats happening. Oh! And dont forget that you can share screenshots of and thoughts about the game by pressing the "Share" button.
dreeps was created to give the player the ability to enjoy a story little by little, day by day. With beautifully crafted art and animations, this is a new kind of game thats easy to pick up and simple for anyone to learn.
This pocket-size adventure has been made for you by three people in Tokyo who put all their hearts into delivering a fresh and charming experience.
Thank you for playing dreeps!
Pros and cons of dreeps: Alarm Playing Game app for iPhone and iPad
dreeps: Alarm Playing Game app good for
Dreeps is charming. Its won me over with its adorable characters, beautiful backdrops and charming art style.
Theres very little you have to do in the game other than tap your character when he becomes incapacitated after losing a battle.
I encourage you to try it out and maybe itll charm the pants off you as well.
Its actually quite an enjoyable game. It most importantly gives me a reason to remember to put my alarm at night!
I love the idea of a simple RPG based alarm clock, its new and weirdly addicting. The style and art looks beautiful and its always awesome when you check in and your character is fighting a monster or talking to people. One thing I really wish the developer would consider is a little customization in the character. To able to change hairstyle, armour or colour, and maybe a variety of weapons would make this app even better. All in all I love this game-ish app, and at least try it out, even just for the art style alone.
Really polished graphics, music, and easy to navigate.
Really wish theres a recap thing for the big moments (boss fights), and maybe more events to see in between.
Really neat game, definitely worth it.
This is the ultimate game for the working professional. When your time is limited and you need to de-stress with a video game this is the perfect app.
Some bad moments
This app does exactly what it says: It is an alarm AND an RPG that you watch and can check in on throughout the day. Pretty fun. Would love to see the ability to customize the main character and possibly play an RPG mini game to heal him throughout the day. But cool concept and well executed ideas as is.
I am really enjoying this so far. I can tell a lot of work was put into this, and Im really digging the pixel art. It reminds me a lot of Godville, but a little less hands on. As mentioned by someone else, I would love to see some character customization options and possible mini games. Just optional things the user can do if he wants a little more interaction.
I hesitate to call this a "game" at all, its so much more that than. Its a portal. A window to a fantasy. All you need to cross into this universe is a bit of imagination and, more importantly, the courage to let yourself fall into it. We owe its creators a infinite amount of gratitude for having the bravery to put this art into the world. Thank you for this gift.
Its a beautiful game that is exactly what it says. Ive liked checking in on my guy during the day and seeing the awesome artwork. But there could be some minor interaction, or a much clearer "how to play" menu. Other than that its just a fun little walkabout.
Really neat concept and a little addictive. I like supporting innovative apps.
Dreeps is, simply put, a portal into another world. Its hard to explain, but watching the robot boy walking through another world as you live out your own day is strangely compelling, symbiotic even. I couldnt help thinking of the meta-narrative of "The Neverending Story." Beautiful graphics, and well constructed environments help complete what is to be a revolutionary idea in gaming. Fantastic work.
